Rules of Role Play
1. What is role play?
Role play is the art of acting out the role of a character. There is many ways of doing this. Everyone has role played at least once in their life. For example: When you were a little kid, and you played cops and robbers with your friends. That is a form of role playing. For this site, we role play in a format called Para. Which is role playing in the form of paragraphs, post by post.
2. Creating A Character:
Great! You've joined, and are ready to create your character and start role playing! Before you role play, you must have a character made, and approved. The first step to creating a character, is going to the section of the forum called Character Templates. Found here. Pick either: Shinigami, Vizard, Arrancar, Human, or Quincy. Copy the code, and paste it in a new thread, in the section that says character applications. After that, wait for it to be approved. To tell if it has been approved, we will tell you, and it will be moved to a different location. Example: Accepted Shinigami is the name of one.
Note:: A character may not have the ability of poison, at all. No questions asked.
3. Role Playing!
Finally, the time has come to role play! I bet you're excited! Well, there is a few things to learn here. To post, simply write a paragraph of what your character does and says. However, there is some rules to this. They will be listed below.
4. Posting Word Count
You need to have at least 1 paragraph to complete a post, and for it to be valid. The average paragraph is 5 to 7 sentences. Any less is unacceptable.
5. Intros
Your first post in the role play is your intro. Your intro is basically describing your character, and how he/she enters the scene. You are not allowed to attack on your first post. That is a big no no.
6. Firewalling
Firewalling is simple. Think of it this way. YOU may know something... But your character does not. Meaning: Let's say someone's character was going to sneak up on your character. You know this, because the person sneaking up had posted this. But your character does not. However, you may have your character know, IF you describe HOW. Simple right?
7. AutoKill/Hit
AutoKill/Hit is simple, and should never be done. It leaves the fun out of the game. AutoKill/Hit, is where a person posts that there character's attack had hit. You may NOT say that. You may say things like ATTEMPTED to hit, or TRIED, but you may not say that the attack actually hit. The reason for this is: What if the other player can dodge? Or block? They need the chance to do that.
8. God Moding
God Moding is the main thing that should never be done. It also kind of goes with AutoKill/Hit. God Moding is short for Godly Modification. So that means your character is all powerful, the best, yadayadayadayada. Nobody is perfect! Remember that. All characters must have flaws.
9. Character Deaths
Character deaths are only allowed if, before the RP was started, all players agreed to have the possibility of having there character dying. So if you are going to have a one on one battle with another player, and you say "I'm going to kill your character." The other person has the right to say "No you're not." Because you need the other persons consent to kill their character.
10. Winning In Role Play
If one character gives up, or dies. That's basically it.
11. GameMasters
A GameMaster, or GM, is a person who is able to control the scene in a role play. They have the ability to alter the field, etc. Only thing is, a GM is chosen by the staff so he/she cannot be just anyone.
12. Double Posting
Double posting is not allowed. If you forgot to add something to your post, inform the other role players, and modify it. If you are caught modifying your post to get out of a sticky situation you will be pulled out of the RP, and you will be banned from role playing for 3 days. You can still post on the site, just not with your character. The same rule is for double posting.
13. Character Destinations
Your character may only be in one place at a time. If your character is in the human world, is it possible for him to be in the Soul Society as well? I have never seen anything like that before in my life. However, this rule does not apply in plot events, or 1 on 1 matches in the Arena board. Keep that in mind.
14. Character Limits
You may have up to 6 characters per account. If an approved character is not being used for more than 2 weeks, it will be considered dead, and moved to the character graveyard. When this happens, you have 24 hours to contact a Character Moderator, or an Admin, and get it revived. If you don't do this within the 24 hour time, it will be deleted, and never to be retrieved again.
Rules may or may not be added.
